SAKURA SPRING MUD DAM DRAG
SAKRUA SPRING MUD DAM DRAG – SEPTEMBER 2010
Sakura held their annual spring mud dam drag on the 4th & 5th of September. (a)
Just on 400 koi were netted – a mixture of large Japanese and smaller locally bred koi. The larger Japanese koi had grown to around 70cm and the smaller koi had grown 30cm in a year.
395 koi were sold to the 80 people who attended this event on the Saturday and the Sunday.
Costa may be going to Japan in October to purchase koi but he is definitely going to Japan in March to purchase the amazing Tosai and Jumbo Tosai babies he brings back.
Costa can be contacted on 082 642 8718
Costa in the “doek” supervising the netting, Frank Du Pont in the red shirt, Mark Kenny with the brown hat, Isaac and Pietersen in the green waders. Everyone is keen to see what’s in the net.
A very proud Mark Kenny who was just as surprised as everyone else when he caught a lovely Shiro Utsuri baby. Frank was right there and immediately purchased this locally bred baby.
